Mr Crin-Nicu Bologa is currently the Chief Prosecutor of the National Anticorruption Directorate within the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice of Romania.

 

He graduated from the Law Faculty of the Cluj-Napoca “Babes Bolyai” University in 1995 and he has been a prosecutor for over 26 years, holding management positions in various prosecutor’s offices for over 12 years.

 

He started his career in 1995 at the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Zalau First Instance Court. Between 1999 and 2005 he worked as a prosecutor at the Prosecutor’s office attached to the Sălaj Tribunal.

 

In 2005 he was appointed Chief Prosecutor of the Cluj Territorial Service of the National Anticorruption Directorate, position held until December 2007.

 

In January 2008 he was a prosecutor at the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Sălaj Tribunal, holding the position of Chief Prosecutor between 2013 and 2019, and of Deputy Chief Prosecutor. In February 2020, he was appointed Chief Prosecutor of the National Anticorruption Directorate for a 3 year-term.

 

Mr Bologa has an extensive experience as a prosecutor, having worked both as an investigating prosecutor, as well as a judiciary (pleading) court prosecutor. His career of over 26 years as a prosecutor covered a wide array of cases, such as: violent crimes, economic, financial and high level corruption offences.

 

His strong expertise and deep understanding of the corruption phenomenon, as well as of the various effective means to fight it, gained by Mr Bologa in his positions within the National Anticorruption Directorate, recommend him as a valuable asset for IACCA towards successfully accomplishing its mission.
