Mr Twalib Mbarak, CBS is the Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Mr Mbarak served in the Kenya Military from 1984 to 1999 as a cadet and rose through the ranks. He was commissioned as Second Lieutenant in 1985, and was promoted to First Lieutenant in 1987. He was awarded the honour of being a Major in 1994.
Mr Mbarak is trained in Intelligence and investigations from various institutions in Kenya, Germany, South Africa, Israel, USA and United Kingdom. He has worked in the Military Intelligence and National Security Intelligence Service at senior management level.
He has also worked with the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission (now the EACC) in the Under Cover Investigations Unit.
Before being appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Mr Mbarak served as the Head of Security and Integrity at Kenya Electricity Generating Company (Kengen).
Due to his outstanding careers and contribution to national development, in His Excellency the President of the Republic of Kenya warded him with The Order of the Burning Spear, 1st Class – Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS).
He holds a Master of Arts degree in Armed Conflict and Peace Studies, Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology and Diploma in Armed Conflict from the University of Nairobi.
He is married with four children.
