Regional Coordination | Updates
Regional Coordinators of IAACA are actively exploring opportunities, through cooperation with different international and regional organisations, to reach out to ACAs in their regions and to promote the work of IAACA. Below are some highlights (in alphabetic order of region):
African States

Regional Coordinator and also the Vice-President of IAACA Adv. Andy Mothibi convened the 2nd Regional Coordination Meeting with fellow members of the region. To advance the regional coordination work, members would strengthen efforts in recruiting ACAs to join IAACA and actively promote IAACA in different regional anti-corruption conferences and meetings in Africa. Regional Coordinator would also compile the questionnaires on training needs collected from ACAs for designing a curriculum for the capacity building programme.

Asia-Pacific States

Regional Coordinator, Mr. Simon Peh, convened the 2nd Regional Coordination Meeting on 5 December 2022 and called for sub-regional coordinators continuous efforts in reaching out to ACAs to understand their training needs and also to ride on their regional networks to promote IAACA during different anti-corruption events.

Eastern European States

Regional Coordinator and also Vice-President of IAACA H.E. Mr. Fikrat Mammadov continued to work on recruiting new members and exploring cooperation between IAACA and anti-corruption counterparts. So far, 15 countries in Eastern Europe have expressed interest in participating in IAACA’s activities.

Latin American and Caribbean States
Regional Coordinator
Mr. Alejandro Nicolás Briones Sosa, General Coordinator of International Relations of Citizen Participation and Social Control (CPCCS) of Ecuador met with the IAACA Secretariat to exchange views on challenges and effective ways in fighting corruption. The Secretariat also shared the latest development of IAACA and explored ways for collaboration.

An online meeting between IAACA and the Executive Secretariat of the National Anti-Corruption System (SESNA) of Mexico was held on 30 September 2022. President Peh discussed with Mr. Roberto Moreno Herrera, Technical Secretary of SESNA and his team the possible collaboration among IAACA, SESNA and other ACAs in Mexico. After the meeting, SESNA joined IAACA as member and connected the Secretariat with three other ACAs in the region.

Western European and Other States

Members
Regional Coordinator and also Vice-President of IAACA Mr. Charles Duchaine convened the 1st Regional Coordination Meeting with members to discuss the implementation of the Regional Coordination Mechanism. Members recognised the importance of fostering synergies with other active anti-corruption networks in the region so as to pool resources in reaching out to ACAs. A Regional Webinar on topics of common interests is planned for the first semester of 2023.
